Changelog

This is a past release. See the latest (v1.0.5)

v1.0.0

Highlights

  • Records and looking back — your VRChat days are now recorded on this PC so you can look back on them. See playtime, your most-visited worlds, and the people you meet most as charts, plus a yearly "Year in Review", per-friend "Memories Together" showing when you first met and your total time together, "How you hang out" and "Your regulars" for the shape of your usual sessions, and a history of the instances you visited
  • Album — browse the screenshots you took in VRChat right inside the app. Jump by month, and see who was in the instance with you when you took them
  • A rebuilt Home — pick the widgets you want and arrange them freely by drag and drop

New Features

Records and looking back

  • Added an album — browse the screenshots you took in VRChat from inside the app (jump by month, see who was in the instance with you). Companions are split into friends and everyone else, and the panel links to the instance info and the records from that time
  • Added Records — keeps your VRChat friend activity, game logs, and notifications in a database on your own PC (off by default, opt-in)
    • Feed tab: record and browse online/offline, GPS, status, avatar, bio, and friend history
    • Game Log tab: record and browse player joins/leaves, world changes, video playback, portal spawns, and game events
    • Notification History tab: persist and browse VRChat notifications (invites, Boops, group notifications, etc.)
    • Overview tab: shows per-table stats, database size, and date range
    • Settings tab: enable/disable, delete all data (double confirmation)
    • Filter the tables by type, group, search, and period; tables scroll horizontally with a fixed header
    • Streamer mode applies to the Records and Charts screens too
  • Added Year in Review — look back on a year of playtime, most-visited worlds, and the people you met most
  • Added "Memories Together" — first meeting, total time together, shared worlds, and a day-by-hour heatmap for each friend
  • Added "How you hang out" — the kinds of instances you meet in, your usual group size, how long a session runs, and how many worlds you went to
  • Added "Your regulars" — the people you often end up with, plus the days that group came together and where they went
  • Added "When you're both around" — the days and hours you and a friend were both in VRChat (it doesn't show their hours on their own)
  • Added a Records section to the user modal — memories, shared sessions, footprints, and timeline, right where you opened the friend
  • Added instance history — records the instances you visited and how their headcount changed over time. Footprints and instance history now include your own row too
  • Added data import from VRCX — if VRCX is installed it's found for you and can be imported as is (you can also pick VRCX.sqlite3 yourself)
  • Added an accordion detail view that expands all fields of a record when you click a table row
  • Records stay separate per account when you run VRChat alongside a second account — only the account you are signed in to shows up in the app

In VR

  • Added an app tile to the SteamVR dashboard — use VRCPersona without taking off your headset
  • Added friend groups to the SteamVR overlay (paid plan)
  • On the SteamVR dashboard, hold the trigger for half a second to open the right-click menu
  • Put the overlay on your left wrist, right wrist, your view, or fixed in the room — opacity, borders, and the clock are saved per position, and changes show up in VR while you keep the headset on
  • While the VR dashboard panel is open, the main window can resize itself to a size you pick, so text stays readable in VR

Around the UI

  • Rebuilt Home as a widget dashboard — choose which widgets to show and reorder them by drag and drop
  • Redesigned modal tabs into a sidebar layout
  • Grouped the chart list into sections so charts are easier to find
  • You can now switch avatars from the avatar modal
  • Instances you've been in before now carry a pin icon — everywhere instances are listed: the friend list, Locations, world and group modals, the right menu, Home, notifications, and the VR overlay. Hover it to see how many times you've been and when you were last there (nothing shows while Records is off)
  • Added an "alone" filter to the Locations page (instances with only 1 person total / only 1 friend)
  • More widgets to put on Home — an online summary, suggested instances, playtime, friends you met recently, upcoming events, and new group posts: nine to pick from and arrange
  • Added a What's New tour — a few slides showing what was added when you move up a version. Open it any time from "What's New" in the sidebar's Help menu

Avatar groups

  • Avatar groups now mirror world groups — split into ⭐VRChat favorites and 💾local sections, with colors and drag-to-reorder
  • You can now switch avatars right from an avatar group's detail page — a green badge marks what you're wearing, a lock badge explains what you can't switch to
  • Added an "Avatar Groups" tab to the avatar modal — you can now add to and remove from your VRChat favorites inside the app
  • VRChat favorite avatar groups now have their own detail page (you can change the display name and visibility too)
  • Added group management for moving avatars between your VRChat favorites and local groups — useful when you hit VRChat's limit and want to park some locally
  • Local avatar groups can be exported and imported through the clipboard

Worlds and groups

  • Rebuilt the world list — pick a category from a sidebar, with cards that fill the width. Categories follow VRChat's official feed, so spotlight and limited-time rows appear on their own
  • Added a three-dot menu to the world modal — set a world as your home world or copy its URL. Home worlds now show in user info too
  • Added "instance headcount change" and "avatar change" to friend group notifications (paid plan) — headcount alerts can be limited to certain instance types per group
  • Removed the member limit on local friend groups

Other

  • App activity can now be written to a log file, which helps when looking into problems. Settings can open the log folder or clear the logs
  • You can now write your own notes on worlds and avatars
  • Avatar favorites and notes can be exported and imported from Settings — avatar names and thumbnails come along, so they still display afterwards
  • VRChat's launch.exe is now found for you, so "Join" takes you straight into a friend's instance. You can point at it yourself if it is not found
  • You can now delete your VRCPersona server account from Settings — friend groups, statuses, and your license activation record go with it (two confirmations)
  • Added a link on the login screen explaining why token login is recommended
  • The installer now carries the VRCPersona icon
  • Added Discord Rich Presence — show your VRChat whereabouts on your Discord profile (off by default). Choose what to show per instance type: world name, headcount, and image in Public; world name and headcount in Friends instances; nothing in Invite instances. You can add an "Invite me" button too. In rooms someone else created, the instance identifier is stripped before sending so the creator can't be read from it

Improvements

Display and controls

  • Added a note to streamer mode about the limits of its masking — always visible, so you can read it before deciding whether to turn it on
  • Simplified the notification settings screen
  • Unified group reordering and added it to local world groups
  • Improved the rendering of numbered lists, dividers, and paragraph margins in the announcement modal
  • Added a notification cooldown — set a minimum gap of up to 30 minutes before the same thing notifies you again
  • Restarting the app within three minutes now keeps the elapsed time on friend cards, and the sort order with it (it all used to reset to 0:00)

Speed and stability

  • Friend removals now show up in about 30 seconds instead of up to 45 minutes (and upload traffic dropped sharply)
  • Improved an issue where the friend list could fail to load when the server was unreachable (added timeouts and a circuit breaker to server API calls)
  • Stopped the "server session expired" toast from repeating
  • Friend updates from WebSocket events no longer wait for a server response
  • VRChat data is now cached by how often it changes, and change notifications persist

Internals and security

  • Addressed a security audit (fixed 16 Rust dependency vulnerabilities, enabled CSP, bundled fonts, added CI)
  • Changed the installer's fallback language to English
  • The HTTP integration now requires Bearer token authentication — view, copy, or regenerate the token in Settings; requests without it are rejected

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed two crashes caused by third-party data
  • Fixed an issue where the "Friend Groups" tab was shown for users who are not friends
  • Fixed worlds and avatars disappearing from groups you never touched when editing VRChat favorites (only happened when an item was in more than one group)
  • Fixed the app crashing on startup with an expired token (the WebSocket reconnect was recursing)
  • Fixed a "you're on your own" notification being sent to the friend who had just left a two-person instance
  • Fixed the HTTP integration not coming back up after restarting the app
  • Fixed gaps in streamer mode — the user modal, search results, and group member lists still showed real icons, bios, pronouns, notes, links, Discord IDs, and VRChat user IDs, and avatar author names, avatar file IDs, and instance creator names were not masked
  • Fixed streamer mode's stand-in names staying in Japanese while the app was in English
  • Fixed checkboxes in settings being squashed horizontally
  • Fixed announcements and the tutorial prompt stacking on top of another dialog right after startup
  • Fixed a fresh install showing every past version's announcement stacked in a single dialog
  • Fixed dates on the notifications page and the blocked users list showing in Japanese format while the app was in English (when the date format is set to automatic)
